Great Steakhouses to Visit in the Twin Cities

The Twin Cities of St. Paul and Minneapolis is home to plenty of excellent steakhouses. And if you’re in the area and you’re hankering for some steak, you should find the following steakhouses and enjoy:

Ruth’s Chris Steak House

This is a rather famous chain restaurant (Ruth’s Chris Steak House), and you can find a location at 920 2nd Avenue South at Suite 100 in the International Center II. They’ve been in business for a quarter of a century here at Minneapolis, and everything’s great after the recent remodel completion.

The décor is actually quite classy, but somehow the overall vibe is friendly and comfortable. Here you’ll find the famous USDA Prime steaks, and you should start with the bone-in cuts with their signature sizzle. The sides and desserts are made from scratch here, and even the cocktails are handcrafted.

All in all, you’re just about guaranteed to have a good time here with your steak order. The 40-ounce Porterhouse is huge, but it’s actually meant for 2 people to share. Or you can also try the lamb chops with the fresh mint. Add some shrimp and lobster tail, and it’s fine.

P.S. Steak

This is a rather opulent dining room and lounge, which you’ll find in the 510 Groveland building near Loring Park. The steaks here are some of the best in the Twin Cities, and for your first visit you should try out the super-tender Denver steak. The cuts of beef are rather hefty here, so you won’t feel like you’re not getting enough.

As for your side order, pair your steak with the grilled asparagus truffle vinaigrette and sautéed mushrooms. Then just get ready to enjoy your whole time here at P.S. Steak.

The Butcher’s Tale

This is the new restaurant that launched to replace the previous Butcher & Boar restaurant. You’ll find this place at 1121 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis.

Technically, it’s not really a traditional steakhouse at all. It’s more like a bar, and you can either hang out on the sunny patio or in the beer garden. Their menu includes a wide range of bourbon and whiskey options, and then you can match your drinks with some excellent steak dishes. Try the hanger steak marinated with achiote, or just go with the terrific angus beef tenderloin.

Manny’s Steakhouse

The bar looks great with the walls line by the booze bottles, and you have some moody lighting as well. Try out the double-cut prime rib, but don’t be hesitant to ask about the other steak options. The servers are all educated about their steaks, and they can offer a nice helping hand for your order.

And if you’re looking to add some great seafood with your steaks, then try the iconic “Manny’s seafood tower”. Just make sure you’re ordering this for a larger party, as it comes with lots of food!

Mancini’s Char House

You’ll find this steakhouse (Mancini’s Char House), in the West Seventh neighborhood, just outside downtown St. Paul. It’s been around for more than 70 years now, and its longevity is mainly due to the excellence of their charbroiled beef. Go with the sirloins and the New York strips, along with the baked potatoes and lobster tails.

This is a real fun place, and try to make it here when they’re featuring some live music. Start with the shrimp cocktail, and then try the New York Strip (Mancini’s original signature steak). Other sides available include the sauteed mushrooms, fried onions, and the dinner salad.

Now that you have a list of great steakhouses to visit in St. Paul and Minneapolis, try each one out to see which place is your favorite. Just remember that you can actually have all of them as your favorites!
