Must-Try Steakhouses in Boston

Must-Try Steakhouses in Boston

Yes, in nearby NYC you have plenty of fantastic steakhouse options including Peter Luger, St. Anselm, and the legendary Gallaghers Steakhouse.

But if you’re in Boston, it’s not as if you don’t have plenty of great steakhouses to try out, either. If you’re in Boston ad hankering for a great steak, then come on over to the following steakhouses:

The Stockyard

This old-school steakhouse, The Stockyard is a true Brighton landmark, and it’s been serving fantastic steaks to families in the area for decades. There’s no secret to the formula for steak here. All the steak portions are hefty, and they all come with juicy and tender centers with charred tasty crusts.

In addition, you can have some various adornments for every cut of steak you might want. So go ahead and add some lobster Oscar to your steak!

Rare Steakhouse

Yes, the prices here can be somewhat high. In fact, the prices can get downright astronomical. But you’re paying for good quality steak here, and “good” doesn’t even come close to describing the steaks.

This is the only restaurant in the whole state of Massachusetts that serve credentialed Kobe beef, which is already difficult to find in the whole country. So, don’t be surprised that 4 ounces of this Kobe steak will cost you almost $300. There are plenty of other unique, hard-to-find steaks here, and none of them are cheap.

You can always win back the cost of the steak if you’re lucky—the Rare Steakhouse is located at the Encore Boston Harbor casino.

Orfano

The place didn’t quite open successfully, since it was first launched right before the pandemic and then Boston shut down all its restaurants by March 2020. But the place is again officially open, and it looks great.

But the look of the place still takes second place behind the magnificence of the steaks. With the Signature Feasts, you can try the 30-ounce ribeye aged with vermouth, Scotch, and koji. Or you can try out the 16-ounce Delmonico steak in the “Sexy Beasts” section of the menu.

As for the cocktails here, some say that it’s the best in the whole of Boston!

Oliveira’s Steakhouse

Get yourself to Somerville if you’re looking for a Brazilian steakhouse-style experience without spending too much of your hard-earned money. They serve the steaks here rodizio-style. This means the servers stop by your table so they can slice the meaty cuts like their perfectly cooked sirloin. And you sure won’t find it easy to say “enough”, so they’ll stop slicing!

Ocean Prime

It’s true that over the last few years, Boston has seen quite a number of large, upscale steakhouse chains. But the first of them was Ocean Prime, and they still have this modern vibe and that focus on both steaks and seafood.

Try the ribeye swabbed with the black truffle butter, or you can go with the bone-in filet crusted with blue cheese. And if you want to add the blackened snapper with jalapeño to your meal, go right ahead!

Mooo….

Yes, there’s an extra “o” in the spelling plus they use an extended ellipsis. And it’s located inside the XV Beacon Hotel. The place is elegant without being too stuffy and formal, as the name of the place suggests.

But that’s not the only reason why this place is unique. It’s popular due to its excellent steaks, and here you can get terrific Japanese wagyu along with grass-fed Australian ribeye. Add the sauces like vincotto (cooked wine) with bone marrow, and you’re in for a real treat!
