The Furr’s buffet prices evoke the chain’s cafeteria-style dining beginnings – the first location was opened in Hobbs, New Mexico in 1946 by the Furr brothers. Today, the chain of family restaurants has shifted from cafeteria-style dining to buffet-style dining in all of its 25 locations (as of January 2016). Its restaurants are located throughout New Mexico, Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, and Arizona.
